Vespula maculifrons

Several weekends ago, while Papa was clearing some brush with a machete, he stepped on a subterranean yellow jacket nest.  The little buggers came screaming out and tagged him on the ear, leg, elbow, arm, and bottom (ouch!).  When he fled inside and tried to explain what happened, Lillie suggested he draw his experience (the first picture).  Both girls then followed up with their own renditions of the original.  Enjoy!

  1. Love these drawings, Josh. Our neighbor has yellow jackets. Maybe I'll suggest a machete! NOT! :-)
